Question
What concentration of sulfuric acid should used to clean the CL17sc colorimeter?
Answer
The improved design of the CL17sc colorimeter allows using a less concentrated sulfuric acid solution (5.25N) to clean the colorimeter than previously required by the legacy CL17. The 5.25N Sulfuric Acid is included in the CL17sc Cell Cleaning Kit (Product # 8573100) and can also be purchased separately as Product # 244932 (Sulfuric Acid Standard Solution, 5.25 N, 100 mL MDB). This solution can be used for the legacy CL17 analyzers, however it may not be efficient enough and therefore cleaning may have to occur more frequently.

NOTE: Never use old CL17 cleaning solution (19.2N Sulfuric Acid) for the new colorimeters because it will lead to elevated chlorine readings for some period of time, even after a single use of the old solution.
