Question
How does the 5500 or 961X Silica or Phosphate analyzer react to a loss of sample?
Summary
Symptoms and steps for low sample flow or no sample for the 5500 and 961X Silica and Phosphate Analyzers.
Answer
In the case of sample loss or no flow, a single stream instrument will display a warning and stop analyzing. Once the sample returns to the analyzer it will recover and restart automatically.

If the analyzer is a multi-channel unit and has sample loss or no flow, the analyzer will move to the next channel to sample either right away or after a delay depending on the settings. (Menu>Setup Sample> Sample missing.) The analyzer will end it's current sequence before cycling back to the missing sample and trying again.

More information on the sample missing delay option can be found here: 5500sc Silica Analyzer Operation Manual
