Question
Why is an ionic strength adjustor necessary for the ISE? Does it need to be used for calibration?
Summary
Ion-selective IntelliCal electrode – ionic strength adjustor for measurement and calibration
Answer
Addition of the appropriate ionic strength adjustor is essential before carrying out a measurement.
This raises all the interfering parameters that are relevant to the measurement process to a predefined level, ensuring that the measuring environment is always constant.
The ionic strength adjustor is therefore used for both measurement and calibration.
