Summary
Glycol visual test kit EG-1 interpretation.
Answer
Approximately 30 ppm will be a light green color under fluorescent light. Approximately 150 ppm will be a light purple. Propylene glycol at low concentrations will give a light green color under any light. When mixing oil the layers will separate rather quickly. The customer should take the reading while shaking the vial. A standard is included with the kit to help recognize a positive result. Add 13 drops of this solution to reagent 3 vial and follow the instructions with a portion of the normal sample (a purple color will be evident).
