HQd meters can export data automatically to a USB drive. On benchtop meters simply plug the USB drive into the USB input on the back of the instrument. On portable meters you will need to attach the             
USB and A/C Power Adapter kit, HQd Series Meters (catalog number/order code 5826300). The power cable is not required for this purpose but you can use it if it is needed to power the meter. The USB drive will keep storing data until the USB drive is full. It is not limited to the 500 data points that the instrument itself is limited to.

The ability to send data directly to a computer or do real-time data logging via a USB connection to a PC or Printer is no longer an option on the HQd series meters. To perform this function the "PC Application" software, also called the HQd Data Transfer Utility, was required and that software is no longer available. The software was made unavailable due to the fact that it does not work with current operating systems. The last version of Windows it was compatible with was Windows XP.
