Question
Does the Ultraturb sc sensor need to be calibrated at time of install?
Summary
Ultraturb sc sensor and calibration at installation.
Answer
Out of box calibration is not necessary with the Ultraturb sc sensor:

1) The Ultraturb is calibrated at the factory.  Unlike the 1720E, which uses an incandescent lamp, the Ultraturb uses LEDs.  It does not need to be calibrated when first installed.  The Ultraturb is shipped with a copy of the calibration certificate.  The instrument will keep the calibration and will not loose the calibration data.
2) In normal operation we recommend annual calibration.
3) You will calibrate using LZV451 (Calibration/Cleaning kit).
4) First we recommend you calibrate the zero point setting using a membrane filter (LZV325) as listed in the manual on page 18.
5) Next we recommend using 20 NTU standard. Follow the steps in the manual on page 16.  It is ok to mix your own standard using 4000 NTU Formazin or our premixed stablCal. You can mix your own standard but the value of this standard must be between 17-20 FNU Formazin.
