Question
How are the communication cards configured on the AF 7000 analyser?
Summary
AF 7000 analyser communication configuration information.
Answer
Communication cards: An additional output card can be installed at any time after AF7000 commissioning; however you must tell the instrument that this card is now installed to activate this card slot. Follow this chart below (Table 1) to activate the cards.

Table 1. AF7000 I/O Board Configuration and Installation Procedure

Card 1 (Left side) Card 2 Card 3 Card 4 (Right side)
(+4) Alarm 1 Relay (+8) Alarm 2 Relay (+3) Process 4-20 mA (+1) Flush Relay
(+32) RS485 Comm (+16) PID Control 4-20 mA (+64) Digital Input

The card positions above represent the layout in the AF7000 streaming current machine.

When adding options to the Streaming Current Meter, go to the "data" (use the AF7000 menu map) and to "Opt1" where the total value of option cards is stored.
To illustrate; if there is an alarm relay card fitted in Position 2, the value of (+8) will be stored by using the up arrow until 8 is reached and then "entered."
If an additional process card is fitted in Position 3 the value of (+3) must be added to the total value and 11 entered (8+3). It is the sum of the cards that is entered.
On removing a card the reverse is true. If there is a 4-20 mA card removed from slot 3 the value deducted will be (-16). If there are no cards the value will be zero.
Only one card may be used per slot.

See the example of activation sequence below.
Example: AF7000 I/O board configuration and activation procedure
The card positions in table below represent the layout in AF7000.

Card 1 (Left side) Card 2 Card 3 Card 4 (Right side)
(+4) Alarm 1 Relay (+8) Alarm 2 Relay (+3) Process 4-20 mA (+1) Flush Relay
(+32) RS485 Comm (+16) PID Control 4-20 mA (+2) Digital Input

Calculate sum of the numbers from highlighted cells in the table above (Total = 51)
When adding optional cards, go to AF7000 menu and to Opt1 where the total value of option cards is stored.
