Question
The Lachat Omnion software gave error "Virtual system resource not allocated." How is this error resolved?
Summary
Virtual System resource not allocated Omnion
Answer
The message "Virtual system resource not allocated" when starting or previewing a run, indicates that the Omnion software is referencing a channel that is either not configured, or does not exist.
First verify that the Lachat Quikchem instrument is configured properly for the system under Configuration>Instruments. Verify all channels that are physically present have a valve and detector configured, and the channels that include a heater, have that configured correctly.
If the error persists after verifying the instrument configuration, verify that the template .omn file is not referencing a channel that does not exist. This can be found in the Run Properties window>Analytes, and under the Analyte table, remove any channels that are not configured on the instrument.
