What are the appropriate steps for the extended stop and/or storage of the 9240/9245 Sodium analysers?

9240/9245 Sodium analyser extended stop and storage procedure.
Answer
The main thing is to protect the analyser against deposit/crystallization which may block the hydraulic circuitry if it is not stored properly.

1. The extended stop option is found in the Maintenance/Diag menu. Place all the tubes in demineralized water for cleaning. Upon completion you will be informed to remove and store electrodes.

2. Remove all the electrodes from the measuring cell.
3. Put the protection cover full of calibration solution (whatever the concentration) on the measuring electrode to avoid the desensitization of the ion selective electrode (ISE) and to avoid the electrode getting dry.
4. Put the protection cover full of potassium chloride (KCl) electrolyte on the reference electrode to avoid it getting dry.
5. Empty the KCl reservoir, rinse the electrolyte circuitry carefully with demineralized water.
6. Disconnect the Diisopropylamine (DIPA) bottle and put a cap on it.

If the analyser will be down 48 hours nothing needs to be done.
If the analyser will be down between 48 hours and one week then go through the extended stop procedure.
If the analyser will be down for more than one week, go through the extended stop and remove electrodes.
