The following pictures were taken by testing a solution of 18 MΩ deionzed water with Method 8030 for Calcium & Magnesium Hardness.

After Step 4, which is a result of 1.0 mL of Calcium and Magnesium Indicator Solution added to 100 mL of sample and inverted several times to mix:


After Step 6, which is a result of 1.0 mL of Alkali Solution added to the 100 mL sample and 1 mL of Calcium and Magnesium Indicator Solution:


After all the steps, EDTA was added to the left-most cell (Step 8, the Blank) and EGTA was added to the middle cell (Step 10, the Magnesium sample). The right-most cell is the Calcium Sample.
The results on this test were below detection limit (-0.01 mg/L Mg as CaCO3 and 0.02 mg/L Ca as CaCO3):
