Question
What is the Rapidly Settling Turbidity Mode (RST) used for?
Summary
2100Q Rapidly Settling Turbidity (RST) mode.
Answer
This mode is used for samples that settle rapidly. The 2100Q uses an exclusive algorithm that reverse calculates and continuously updates a calculated value of turbidity to a point in time when the sample begins to settle out of solution based upon the accumulated trend of the measured values. This results in values that are more accurate and repeatable than those obtained using traditional smoothing techniques, such as averaging. The RST mode is best applied to samples greater than 20 NTU that settle rapidly and continuously change in value. The reading is based on a correctly prepared sample that is homogeneous at the beginning of the reading. Please see attachment.
