Question
What does a leak sensor error from the Lachat Omnion software indicate?
Summary
Resolving leak sensor error
Answer
Below each manifold is a tub which will collect any liquids which leak from the manifold. Heated channels will have a heater block installed in this tub. At the bottom of the tub is a leak sensor. If it gets wet the system will detect a leak. This will stop an Omnion run and another run cannot be started until it is resolved. For a heated channel the heater block will need to be removed to get to the leak sensor. Verify the heater has cooled down and the instrument is turned off. Unplug the thermocouple plug so that the heater block can be removed.

Clean up any liquid present at the bottom of the tubs. The instrument is always verifying all leak sensors are dry even for channels that are not currently being used. All tubs may need to be checked, not just the one(s) on the channel(s) currently being used.
