What are the benefits of using an LDO (Luminescent Dissolved Oxygen) over a Polarographic Dissolved Oxygen (PDO) probe?
LDO versus Polarographic Dissolved Oxygen probes.
LDO probes have a 3 year warranty compared to the 1 year warranty the PDO probes have.
LDO probes can be stored dry, unlike the PDO probes which need to be stored in a storage solution.
LDO probes do not have electrolyte filling solutions or membranes that need to be replaced regularly. They only have a sensor cap that needs to be replaced just once per year.
LDO probes do not need to be polarized for several hours before use. They can be used right away.
LDO probes are available in rugged style which has a 5 meter (or longer) cable that much sturdier than the PDO probes and can be used in full submersion applications.
LDO probes have a built in barometer to measure pressure compared to needing to estimate and enter the pressure manually on meters that use the PDO probes.
