Do soils need to have a certain percent dryness before they can be analyzed using the Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB) method?
Percent dryness for soil samples using the PCB method.
When running the PCB method, soil samples should have no more than 10-20% moisture content. One can add sodium sulfate to get rid of some of the water content. However, if there is too much moisture content, there will be a loss of accuracy on the weight of actual soil.
