What is the application difference between the UniVer® 3, ManVer® 2 and CalVer® 2 indicators?
Summary
Application difference between the UniVer® 3, ManVer® 2 and CalVer® 2
Answer
UniVer® 3 is for total hardness determination and works best in industrial samples that may have high concentrations of copper.
ManVer® 2 is for Total Hardness determination and works best for natural water samples that may contain significant amounts of iron and manganese, or when alkalinity is high. ManVer® 2 is also used for very high-range Total Hardness determination, such as over 30 gpg as CaCO3.

*If deciding between UniVer® 3 and ManVer® 2, then ManVer® 2 is preferred
.
CalVer® 2 is for Calcium Hardness determination, but must be used with a pH buffer or alkaline reagent.
