Question
Can I digest my samples in an oven instead a DRB 200 reactor?
Summary
Sample digestion in an oven versus a reactor block
Answer
It is recommended for best accuracy to perform the digestion step in a DRB 200 reactor. This is because of the “reflux” action that occurs with this type of heating apparatus and because the aluminum block transfers heat more effectively than hot air. If a customer you must use an oven for the digestion, black phenol caps catalog number 1423825 (pkg 25), can be purchased. These are to be used in place of the white caps, which will melt if placed in an oven.
