Question
When should the cation kit (k-kit) be used on a 9240/9245 sodium analyser?
Summary
9240 and 9245 analyser and cation kit (k-kit) application
Answer
The cation kit will be used in the following situations:
1. High sodium values, higher than 10 ppm and up to 200 ppm.
2. Samples that have low sample pH, less than 5 pH, before conditioning.
3. High alkalinity applications (greater than 250 ppm CaCO3).
4. Installations at very high altitudes. The kit contains a pump for the conditioning reagent, usually DIPA, so more DIPA can be pumped into the sample to achieve the correct conditioning pH of at least 10.5 pH (optimal pH after conditioning is 11.2 pH).
