Question
What could cause a Series 5000 silica analyser to not calibrate after not being in use?
Summary
Series 5000 calibration and maintenance information.
Answer
There are a few common reasons for calibration issues when bringing a Series 5000 analyser back into service:
- Clogged tubing can cause the unit to not calibrate properly by not allowing proper reagent delivery during the cycle. Flushing the reagent lines with clean water can free flow but if they are still not flowing correctly then the tubing would need to be replaced.
- A dirty sample cell can also interfere with the optics and electronics of the analyser. Clean the sample cell with ammonium hydroxide then flush with clean water.
- Be sure the reagents are fresh for the analyser and replace them if they are not fresh
