Question
What is the difference between the GLI 2-wire and 5-wire pH/ORP sensors?
Summary
Analog pH/ORP sensor differences
Answer
The GLI 2-wire sensors have uncalibrated 4-20 mA loop powered output. These sensors were typically used with GLI model 670 and 95G analysers which are no longer available. The 2-wire sensors can be directly connected to a controlling device such as a PLC or DCS, but require the user to generate a program that allows for sensor calibration. The 5-wire differential sensors are used with an analyser that provides voltage to power the internal preamp and a differential input section. The two sensor types are not interchangeable. These 5-wire sensors are used with the sc200 controller and PRO-P3 models.
