Answer
The DR 3900 and DR 6000 spectrophotometers do not use the same SIP10 Sipper Kits.

The DR 3900 uses the SIP10 Sipper Kit with Tubing and Dual Path Length Cell (Product #  LQV157.99.10002).

The DR 6000 has two different SIP10 Sipper Kits to choose from: the SIP10 Sipper Set for pour-thru methods, 1 inch vial (Product #  LQV157.99.20002) or the SIP10 SIPPER SET - DR 6000 - 1 CM QUARTZ (Product #  LQV157.99.30002).

The DR 6000 requires the lid to be closed when taking a reading.  The SIP10 modules for this instrument include a cell compartment cover that allows the tubing to pass from the SIP10 to inside the DR 6000 cell compartment without opening the lid.

The DR 3900 does not require the cell compartment to be covered when using the SIP10.
