Question
Why does the error "Reagent pressure low" warning show up after replacing the reagent bottles on the 5500sc / 961x sc?
Summary
Reagent pressure low after 5500/961X reagent bottle change
Answer
Check the below items and watch the attached video with additional instructions and tips.
  • Ensure that none of the foil seal/induction seal remains on the reagent bottle rim before installing in the instrument.
  • Check the reagent 3 bottle.  If any powder remains on the lip of the bottle under the seal, it will allow an air leak.
  • Check the thread of the bottle because if it is cracked it can cause this issue.  If this is the case, the recommendation is to replace the reagent bottle.
  • Only use your hands to tighten the reagent bottle caps/tube assemblies on the new style bottles.
